President Ramkalawan to meet with Pope Francis at the Vatican

President Wavel Ramkalawan will be meeting Pope Francis on 16th March at the Vatican.

The president announced this in his press conference this afternoon, and said that he had been invited for the private audience..

He did not give more details on the visit, and neither was he asked by the journalists present.

He made the announcement while replying to a question as to whether he would be attending a meeting discussing the reparations for the victims that had presented their cases to TRNUC.

The president said he would ask the Pope to pray for Seychelles (among other things, we presume).

On the same day he will also meet with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State to the Vatican. The President will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sylvestre Radegonde.
